Golden Rose Blooms and Unmatched Fragrance

Why Julia Child Roses?

Rich gold color meets a perfect symmetrical growth habit, with no pruning, trimming or deadheading required. With the Julia Child Rose, you get a perfect gold tint, sweet fragrance, and multi-layer petals effortlessly.

You get the traditional layered blooms of the rose without all the work. And Julia Child, also known as the Absolutely Fabulous Rose, is even more unique than your average rose variety. With super glossy, vibrant leaves and amazing disease resistance, it's second to none. Julia means no spraying and no fuss for you, yet you still get the expertly-cultivated look of a landscaper's rose garden, perfect for delivering cut flower arrangements and more.

When it comes to this variety, tough conditions are no problem. In fact, the Julia Child Rose thrives in temperatures down to -10 degrees and grows in hot climates as sweltering as southern Florida. The Julia Child continues to deliver vivid yellow color, one-of-a-kind fragrance, and compact growth that fits almost anywhere. Basically, you get none of the work but all of the benefits from this All-American Rose Selection winner.

Did we mention the Julia Child's continual blooms? The buttery rich color is made even better by the fact that the Julia Child's blooms last for weeks at a time. Other rose varieties can't compete with the long-lasting golden flowers of the Julia, not to mention its one-of-a-kind candy scent. Reminiscent of the sweetest old-fashioned licorice, the aroma recalls carefree childhood memories as soon as you approach Julia Child's incomparable sun-soaked roses.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Select a spot with well-drained soil and full sun (6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day).

Plant your rose in a hole twice as wide but just as deep as the root ball. Water immediately to establish roots. Add a 3-inch layer of mulch to prevent weeds.

If you're planting in a container, select a pot that's about twice the size of your plant's shipped container and use organic soil. Place your rose, water to settle its roots, and find a sunny spot on your porch or patio to place your container.

2. Watering: Water weekly, or check the surrounding soil. When the soil is dry about 3 inches down, it's time to water your rose.

If your rose is container-planted, water until you see it flowing from the drainage holes at the bottom.

3. Fertilizing: Feed with a liquid rose fertilizer, once in the spring and once in the summer. Follow the instructions on the package.

4. Pruning: Other than shaping, no pruning is required.
