How to Plant and Grow Pine Trees

A classic variety that thrives in an array of landscapes (without the need for muss or fuss), Pine Trees are a timeless favorite for a variety of uses. Specific directions vary based on the Pine Trees you purchase, but knowing your growing zone is an important first step.

Once you’ve determined your zone, keep sunlight and watering needs in mind. Pine Trees usually prefer full sun (6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day) and well-drained soil but they do adapt to poor drainage and other soil types fairly well.

We do recommend planting your Pine Trees in early spring or fall, before or after the threat of frost has passed.
