The Largest and Sweetest Raspberries

Why Caroline Raspberry Bushes?

The Caroline Raspberry is a new raspberry cultivar that was bred to have larger raspberries with stronger resistance to diseases, and the results are amazing. This raspberry fights off common diseases like root rot with ease while producing two abundant harvests of huge raspberries every season.

Even better? Caroline Raspberries are sweeter than the raspberries found in local grocery stores. They’re quickly becoming the top choice for baking into pies, jams and more. And with Caroline Raspberries harvests in the early and late summer, you’ll never run out of berries.

And because it's drought-tolerant and heat resistant, the Caroline Raspberry will continue to thrive without constant care, especially since it’s cold hardy down to -20 degrees. Even the coldest and snowiest winters don’t stop the Caroline Raspberry from supplying you with tons of enormous raspberries.

Pollination Info

Caroline Raspberry Bush Pollination

Caroline Raspberry Bushs are self-fertile. You will get fruit with only one plant. However, adding an additional Caroline Raspberry Bush will drastically increase the size of your crop.

Planting & Care

1. Planting: Choose a location that offers full sun (6 to 8 hours of sunlight per day) and gives the Raspberries good air circulation. Areas that encounter high winds can pose a threat to the canes and should be avoided. Also, the soil should be nutrient-dense and well-draining.

If possible, plant your Raspberries early in the spring. If you live in a warmer area of the country, plant in late winter.

Dig a hole that provides enough room for the roots to spread out. For multiple plants, space Raspberries about 3 feet apart, in rows 8 feet apart. A trellis or a fence can provide extra support for growth if needed.

2. Watering: Water your Raspberry Plant weekly - if you're not sure when and how much to water, simply check your surrounding soil. If the surrounding soil is dry about 3 inches down, it's time to water your plant.

3. Fertilizing: You can use compost with a small amount of balanced organic fertilizer, applying late in the winter. It’s also a good idea to spread mulch in the planting area to maintain moisture and discourage weed growth.

4. Pruning: Prune Raspberries in the fall, leaving about 6 of the thickest, strongest green canes. Make sure you cut off any sideways-growing canes.

FGT Tip: If you don’t want to trellis your Raspberries, just let them grow in a slightly arched position so they have ample room as the fruit ripens.
