1. Planting: During the winter months, this philodendron enjoys bright light. As for spring and summer, it does well with indirect light and a bit of dappled shade. This house plant prefers warm temperatures, so be sure to keep it away from drafty areas.

When you're repotting or planting your philodendron, select a container that's twice the width of the shipped container and one that has drainage holes.

2. Watering: Water your philodendron lightly, keeping the soil consistently moist but not soggy. A good rule of thumb to keep in mind: Put your finger in the soil to check its level of moisture. There is no need to water your plant until you have a full inch of dryness starting from the top of the soil.

3. Fertilizing: When actively growing, feed your Philodendron once a month at half strength. During the winter months, reduce frequency of fertilization. If no new leaves are growing, fertilization is not necessary.

4. Pruning: Prune this climbing philodendron in spring/summer for vigorous growth. Provide a moss pole, trellis, stakes, or other structures for it to climb as it produces aerial roots that cling to structures.
